We plan on doing our dry land in-house. We will book a gym and use the skills of some of our parents.

We are planning on using our public exposure at WEM during the WOOD to fund raise.  (i.e. 50/50, gift baskets, panhandling etc.)

U16

The team is off to a fantastic start!
The girls are all really excited about their coaching staff and teammates.

We have already completed a bottle drive which bought in $1462.18, and are planning to do 3 or 4 more.

The girls can't wait until the weekend as we have our first game on Saturday against Central Alberta U16 AA's. (2:30 Oct 2nd - Kinsmen Arena)

The amount of energy, determination and enthusiasm in the dressing room is truly amazing.

They will then be heading to a team retreat at Pigeon Lake. (Oct 2-3) There they will experience lots of fun, exercise and team bonding, but probably not a lot of sleep:)

Planned Tournaments:

Grocery Card Fund Raiser

With our first order for this season, Safeway and Sobeys 'contributed' $4493 to our teams.  This is the best fund raiser, with the least effort. that the ERC has, and it only takes a few hours spread over a month.

A running total of the funds raised over the season can be found on the Grocery Card Program page

Team WAM! sold $24,700, earning just over $2100.  When the U14, 16 and U19 teams get to that level, the monthly funds raised will be over $8000.

Market... Market... Market...
Friends, neighbours and relatives, anyone who purchases groceries or gas, can be shamelessly hit up to exchange cash for plastic every month.  Cards are valid throughout western Canada.

Create a 'customer list' to contact every month over the season.

The process is painless
  • take the order for cards
  • submit your total order to the team rep
  • receive the cards from the team rep
  • deliver the orders to the 'customers' and collect payment on delivery
  • submit your payment to the team rep
Remember we are not 'selling' anything.  We are exchanging cash for a plastic debit card.  This means you can ask the same people to buy raffle tickets, etc. as well.

Bingos

We have team bingos assigned for the 2010/2011 ringette season.  The dates are on the ERC web site Bingo Page.

We have a few more events than last year.  Each team is assigned 4 shifts (2 afternoon and 2 evening), and each shift requires 5 workers.

As in past years, there are mystery dates that will occur sometime on or after July 1, 2011.  We will know the exact dates in early May 2011.  The mystery dates are because we receive bingo dates after the current season ends, but before next season begins.

Please understand that these bingos are a commitment for the 2010/2011 ringette season, and people have to work them regardless of whether they will play for the ERC in the 2011/2012 season.

Once you have a bingo co-ordinator for your team, please let Darcy Hagerman know.  The bingo co-ordinator is responsible for signing up volunteers to cover the 20 slots per team as well as remind/confirm workers a few days before the event.

Each shift will have a chairperson, who has to handle the paperwork.  Although the chairperson's job is very easy, it is best that they are someone who has worked a few bingos before.

Extra Team Bingo Fundraiser

There is a possibility of getting another bingo shift or two.  These come up when another club is unable to work a bingo they have been assigned.  If you want your team to possibility work another shift and have your team receive the net proceeds, please let Darcy know.  You will get at least 2 weeks notice.  There is no guarantee of getting additional dates, so please don't count on this in your team fundraising.  Net proceeds would go to the team.
